"Alertness"
Bronze 8" x 5" x 11" h.
I have never hunted an Elk myself. But I have friends that do. It seems that to get close enough to a big
bull is a challenge. In this piece I wanted to capture that sense of alertness that the Elk must have to
stay clear of the hunter, even while he is 'bugling' in the rutt.
It was also the first piece that I started to experiment with a more stylized candelabra. I still wanted the
candelabra to ellicit that sense of 'religion' and 'spirituality' that exists in the heart of a true hunter.
The relationship that the hunter feels for his hunted is a very complex and special one.
