It was the mid 1970's in the Israel Museum that I first saw the object which has kindled my fascination with adornment ever since.

Cast in solid gold - It was a tassle of barley.

I could not believe how any artist could render so delicate a wonder of nature with such fidelity.

Not only was it beautifully replicated but the timeless brightness of the gold brought out the symbolism of the object... beauty and fertility and sustenance..

Only many years later would I understand how the ancient artist could fabricate such an object.

Now I use those same age old techniques, together with some modern ones, to fashion and fabricate my shapes of adornment.

Instead of gold, I use silver.

Like that ancient artist I often take my inspiration from the forms of nature which surround me.
